Traditions....
For many years growing up, it was a Thanksgiving weekend tradition to pack up and head out to the Opryland Hotel to take in the Christmas lights and officially kick off the Christmas season. This year, we wanted to continue that tradition with our boys, so we packed up and layered up to take in a new Opryland festivity, SNOW! The SNOW exhibit was to feature a snow maze, live reindeer, snowball fights, snow angels, and then making smores by a giant firepit. Well, let's just say in all my thirty-seven winters in good 'ole Tennessee, I've never seen a more pathetic snow....and it was the most expensive, pathetic snow I'd ever seen, too. So, with some deflated little boys, and parents too, we decided to get our money back and try ICE. It, too, was more money than fun, but with all of us together, we can make fun out of just about anything....and we did....until our toes felt colder than the ice sculptures and we had to head home. Traditions...memories....family....it was worth it!
