What a memorable day. I was invited to a Mother's Day Tea at FCA on May 3rd, hosted by the lower elementary grades. Evan was my date for the day and escorted me to the "tea room" upon my arrival. He was just bedside himself, he was so very excited. He first presented me with an egg ornament that he had hand decorated with beautiful pink, blue, purple and crystal sequins. He then showed me to my seat, which had a handmade placemat of a bird's nest and three eggs in the nest with words that Evan thought described me written on the eggs in the nest....Beautiful. Joyful. Awesome. I was truly humbled. One of many times that afternoon.
Evan has the sweetest, most compassionate soul, EVER! That boy simply feels life with his heart before any other party of his body. Today was to be no different. He simply could not sit still... The pride and excitement bubbled within him until he almost burst. We ate our cookies, drank our tea, laughed and took lots of pictures of ourselves. It was a regal event that the Queen herself would have been proud to attend...Well, until the very end, anyway. That's when we all cut loose and did the Chicken Dance. Yep, after all the pomp and circumstance of a tea, an elementary age child has just gotta cut it up on the dance floor and get a little crazy. Be sure to watch sweet Evan and his friend Jake having a great time doing the chicken dance. So cute.
Thank you, Evan, for an amazing and super fun Mother's Day celebration! I love you and am proud to have been your date to the tea!
